North Carolina and Florida garnered the most interest in terms of online searches for locations within specific counties last year, including Gaston County in the Top 10.

The industrial concrete product manufacturer announced a $102 million investment to build a manufacturing headquarters in south Gaston County. The facility will be 154,000 SF and the company intends to create 125 new jobs at an average annual wage of $104,000, which is nearly double the county’s current average annual wage.

Healsee Capsules, the world’s leading producer of vegetarian hard-shell empty capsules, plans to invest $65 million in Gaston County, and create 100+ new jobs with an average annual wage of $52,234.  

Schools and companies are partnering to meet Gaston County’s workforce needs. Their efforts start with helping high school students discover careers and continue through sharpening current workers’ skills.

Walmart, Inc. (NYSE: WMT) plans to open a new fulfillment center in Gaston County. The estimated $300 million investment will create more than 300 new jobs in Gaston County. The 1.2 million–square-foot facility, located at 799 Sara Lee Access Road, is expected to open in 2027. The new jobs will generate an annual payroll impact in the community of more than estimated $20 million per year.
