METYX plans to establish an advanced manufacturing operation and a North American corporate office in Gas-ton County. This is based upon the company?s intention to invest $3.5 million for purchase and facility improve-ments and installation of $9.098 million in machinery & equipment for a total investment of $12.598 million over a five year period from 2018 through 2022. The company intends to create at least 200 hundred new jobs.
U?ur Üstünel, METYX Group Managing Partner who will head up USA operations, stated: ?METYX products are currently manufactured at the company?s three factories in Europe. METYX has 41,000 square meter, state-of-the art facilities in Istanbul and Manisa in Turkey, as well as a 15,000 square meter factory (with 67.000 square meters open area) manufacturing center in Kaposvár, Hungary. In recent years we have made major capital investments as part of an ongoing long-term program of key strategic investments in high-end production facilities for technical textiles and composites-related products to serve key composites markets, such as wind energy, marine, automotive, transpor-tation, infrastructure and building, which all use the technical fabrics we manufacture. As part of our global strategic growth plan, we have been interested in the USA for several years, and now we believe now is the right time to invest and bring our portfolio of products and services to the American market. This is a very exciting time for METYX and we look forward to starting our US operations later this year.?
