Today the Gaston County Economic Development Commission is providing the following information links so that you may be able to quickly and effectively list your business as being an essential business to combat the COVID 19 Virus.
At the time of this announcement, Governor Cooper has not issued an order to “shelter in place”. Should this occur then all busi-nesses classified as “non-life essential” would be ordered to close for a specified period of time. The State of North Carolina, through the Department of Public Safety’s Division of Emergency Management is identifying those existing industries and busi-nesses which are deemed essential.
If you believe your company can file for an exemption, especially those companies that are suppliers to medical devices, produce protective health equipment or components or could quickly redirect resources to meet the growing need for these items, then please consider registering. Obtaining this status of an “essential industry” would allow your company the ability to operate if an emergency shelter in place is issued.
THIS ACTION SHOULD TAKE PLACE IMMEDIATELY!!
