The Request:

Beer_IndustryGaston County is teaming up with the Charlotte Regional Partnership to attract Stone Brewing Co. to the area. The tenth largest brewing company in the nation announced earlier this year that they are looking to locate a new brewing and hospitality facility east of the Mississippi. Stone Brewing Co. made their intentions public to locate a facility with a four year investment of $100 million and it is expected that many communities throughout the east coast will submit a response.

Our Response:

The Site

The Charlotte Regional Partnership decided to take an unique approach to responding to the site request and developed a website to differentiate their response.

The Video

The Partnership also produced a video that showcased the Charlotte city skyline and Stone Brewing Co. beer.

The #Hashtag

Further, the partnership along with Gaston County looks to employ social media as another tool in an effort to catch the attention of Stone Brewing Co. with #StoneGoToCUSA which is a play on a popular Stone Brewing Co. beer, Stone Go To IPA.

The Coverage

WBTV 3 News, Weather, Sports, and Traffic for Charlotte, NC

The Conclusion

Gaston County and the Partnership believe they have a legitimate opportunity to land Stone Brewing Co. based on the population base for the hospitality aspect to draw from, an already strong existence of tourism assets, a strong presence in manufacturing and warehousing, and the growing presence of breweries in Charlotte and North Carolina. If Stone Brewing Co. located in Gaston County, it would build upon economic impact of nearly $1 billion generated by the state?s 71 breweries and the nearly $3 billion impact of the beer industry.
